A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
I believe deeply that, with your partnership, we can build a world-class venue in Pagosa Springs and create a uniquely intimate, inspiring summer music festival unlike anything else in the region. Our dream is for Pagosa to become the summer home of exceptional faculty and gifted students who live, rehearse, and perform throughout our community—at Mountain Light Lodge, Keyah Grande, the Springs, Liberty Theatre, in private homes, and ultimately on a newly built summer stage nestled in the mountains. Imagine the joy of sponsoring a string quartet, a jazz trio, or even a full symphony orchestra, and becoming a foundational part of this exciting new artistic chapter for Pagosa.
At Mountain Light Music Festival, we are committed not only to developing accomplished musicians but also to cultivating genuine community. I have been fortunate to mentor many remarkable young artists who have gone on to extraordinary careers, and I have learned that the most meaningful growth happens when students are encouraged to root their art in something deeper than achievement. MLMF is shaped by a mission of spiritual and artistic value: helping students place their trust in what is lasting and true, rather than in titles, positions, or applause.
We make music because we are inspired—not because we seek attention. Our purpose is to model and pass on a vision of performance grounded in authenticity, gratitude, collaboration, and the joy of creation. With your support, we can share these truths about art, community, and the profound gift of music with the next generation of artists, building something beautiful and lasting here in Pagosa Springs.
