Friends of Mountain Light Music Festival Concert

Thursday, August 5 - 2021
Join the Mountain Light Trombone Choir of 14 professional, faculty, and music majors from around the country for a night of music on top of Cade Mountain at the Mountain Light Lodge. We will play movie music by John Williams and other magnificent works for full trombone choir. 
Stay for light refreshments and relax by the fire. 

This concert is free and open to the public (donations accepted but not required). Bring your ATV/Side by Side and explore the Voice of Wilderness Base Camp - home of the Mountain Light Lodge. A Night At the Movies ​Grand Finale Concert

Friday, August 6 - 2021
The Mountain Light Music Festival is proud to present our grand finale concert titled A Night at the Movies featuring music by John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Billy May. Join us for an exciting night of music held outdoors at the beautiful Keyah Grande Estate. Beer and wine will be available for purchase before and during the concert and the estate is yours to explore.

There will be opportunities to meet the musicians during intermission and at the conclusion of the concert.

Although the event is planned to be held outside, there will be a plan to move the concert indoors in case of inclement weather. So grab your tickets now and enjoy a night of music with the Mountain Light Music Festival.

Trombone Summit 2021

The Trombone Summit is back for 2021. The combined studios, friends, alumni of the University of Alabama and Baylor University Trombone Studios will be performing advanced works for trombone choir, quartets and solo works. Featured faculty are still being announced. We are proud to bring Dr. Jonathan Whitaker on as faculty. 
This week will be spectacular.

  • Rehearsals on the Mountain Light Meadow stage and Lodge deck
  • Overnight backpack - all gear provided minus sleeping bag and clothing
  • Fireside chats
  • Disc Golf
  • Thursday evening reception with patrons -  Cade meadow concert with Friends of MLMF
  • Friday night main concert in Pagosa
  • Hot Springs
  • Early AM warm ups or spot and stalk with BP
  • Mountain biking/gravel ride
  • Clinics and lessons with faculty are included
