To be considered for this week long residency at the Mountain Light Music Festival please submit the following information along with a recent recording of your choice. Repertoire should be somewhat standard and exhibit both technical and expressive merits. A Printable version of this information can be downloaded here.
Application fee: $25 (non refundable)
Tuition: $525
Cost of the Mountain Light Music Festival
Includes accommodations at the Mountain Light Lodge, all meals, travel to and from Durango Airport, visit to the hot springs spa, gear use (day packs, tents, guided hike, disc golf course, mini golf) and private instruction fees.
MLMF shirts are $10
Tuition does not cover any transportation costs, in-town "on our own" meals or additional overnight stays in Pagosa.
After the registration fee, there will be a tuition downpayment of $200 due June 1st.
The balance of your trip payment is due July 15th.
Sponsorship - once you have registered for MLMF, Prof Phillips will meet with you (Zoom) and provide a sponsorship letter template and discuss strategies for your to raise support for your tuition.
Enrollment: 12 participants plus faculty.
Enrollment is limited due to space available and Covid restrictions. Enrollment is open through May.
Limited to University of Alabama and Baylor students - after the May enrollment deadline, select participants will be invited to fill key chairs if there is room available.

VOW is the non profit parent organization that hosts the Mountain Light Music Festival. The MLMF is part of the "Partnership Series" hosted by VOW. There are two more steps in addition to the above application:
