Musician Level - Mark Bennett
Mark Bennett is entering his second year at Baylor University studying trombone performance. During his first year, Mark was a member of the Baylor University Wind Ensemble and Concert Jazz Band. He also performed in multiple chamber ensembles and a jazz combo.
During his high school career, Mark was a member of the school wind ensemble, jazz band, and pit orchestra. In the marching band, he served as a section leader, low brass captain, and two-time soloist. He also helped form his school’s first ever trombone choir and was a four-time finalist, one-time winner of the Young Artist Competition hosted there annually.
Outside of school, Mark was principal trombonist of the Texas Youth Wind Symphony in 2018 and principal trombonist of the Austin Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2019 to 2020. He also performed in the TMEA All-State Symphonic Band his junior year and the Philharmonic Orchestra his senior year.
Mark is excited to continue his musical journey at Baylor this coming Fall, but not before attending MLMF and putting into practice what he has been working on this summer!
