Musician Level - Tyler Neufer
Tyler Neufer is a recent graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Masters of Music in horn studying under Kevin Rivard, principal horn of the San Francisco Opera and Ballet. During his undergraduate years at Baylor University, Tyler studied with Jeffrey Powers, former fourth horn of the Cleveland Orchestra. Prior to his college experience, Tyler performed with the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio under Troy Peters. In 2013 he won the Young Artist Solo Competition sponsored by the Starlight Symphony Orchestra and was a featured soloist with the Symphony. He was chosen as a finalist for both the Juanita Miller Association of Symphony Orchestras and the Pearl Amster Solo Concerto Competition in 2013, and in 2014 he won the International Horn Quartet Competitions. While at Baylor he has had the pleasure of performing with the nationally recognized Wind Ensemble and the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, the latter of which won The American Prize in Orchestral Performance for three consecutive years. Tyler is eager to continue this excellence in performing with the Sol Brass Quintet in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado alongside his friends. After graduating he plans to teach horn and gig in the San Antonio area while taking auditions for orchestras, bands, opera pits, and anywhere else where he can spread his joy for music.
