Musician level - Ethan Gordon
Originally from Austin, Texas, Ethan Gordon is an upcoming junior studying Music Education at Baylor University under Dr. Kent Eshelman. Ethan started playing the euphonium in 6th grade and switched to the tuba his sophomore year of high school. Throughout his high school career, Ethan experienced great success in the All-State audition process, Solo and Ensemble, and was the principal tubist of the Texas Youth Wind Symphony his junior and senior years of high school.
At Baylor, Ethan has expanded his musical horizons through the secondary study of piano, composition, choir, and weekly service to the special needs community as a part of Oso Musical. Ethan also acts as a private lesson instructor for young musicians in the Waco and Austin areas.
Last summer, Ethan was one of six students selected as semi-finalists for the International Falcone Festival. This summer, Ethan plans to attend the Buffet Academy along with the Mountain Light Music Festival where Ethan hopes to become a better man, musician, and Christian.
In the future, Ethan aspires to teach at the high school and collegiate levels, along with preforming research in the fields of music education and learning.
